Hydroxy-hexahydrocannabinol (10-OH-HHC) is a hydrogenated derivative of tetrahydrocannabinol. It is a naturally occurring phytocannabinoid that has rarely been identified as a trace constituent in Cannabis sativa. Similar structural analogues of 10-OH-HHC have been shown to bind to the CB1 receptor and produce cannabinoid effects, with the 9β-10-OH-HHC enantiomer being much more active than 9α-10-OH-HHC. 10-OH-HHC has been shown to bind to the CB1 receptor, but with a weaker affinity than THC, usually indicating that it is not as intoxicating as typical THC.
